| NASCAR Drivers Look for
Early Season Momentum in Rolex 24
Year after year, the Rolex 24
Hours at Daytona featured some of
the most talented racers in the world.
NASCAR drivers Rusty Wallace, Jeff Gordon, Bobby Labonte,
Jimmie Johnson, Tony
Stewart, Kyle Petty and
Casey Mears have all competed in the historic event with
varied success. In 2007, NASCAR
rookie Juan Pablo Montoya, along with teammates Scott Pruett
and Salvador Durán took the overall victory driving a
Ganassi Racing Daytona
Prototype.
In 2008, Montoya, Pruett and
new Ganassi driver Dario Franchitti will attempt to repeat
the success of last year. The team will once again pilot
Daytona Prototypes. Other NASCAR notables entered into this
year’s race include A.J. Allmendinger, Kurt Busch, and Boris
Said. |
Over 200 Drivers Entered
into 2008 Rolex 24
Over 200 drivers have filed
entry blanks for the 2008 running of the Rolex 24 Hours at
Daytona. The Daytona Prototype class continues to grow
with over 70 competitors driving 22 cars. Names
including Pruett, Briscoe, Angelelli, Bell, Fogarty and
Gurney will race in teams of three to five drivers all
gunning to be the first over the finish line at hour 24.
More than 4o cars driven by well over 100 drivers will
comprise the GT Grand Touring class for this year's event.

| KONI Challenge Series
set to kick off 2008
The
KONI Challenge Series, comparable to NASCAR's Nationwide
Series, is the fee der
series to the Rolex Sports Car Series. Like big
brother Rolex, the KONI Challenge Series will begin their
season at the famous Daytona International Speedway.
The three hour event is set for January 25, 2008.
After Daytona, the Series will continue their 11 race
schedule at Lime Rock Park on May 26, 2008. The 2008 KONI
Challenge Series will finish out the season at Virginia
Raceway Park October 4-5, 2008. For the full series
